West Kentucky & Tennessee Telecommunications Cooperative was incorporated in 1951 as a telephone cooperative to provide service in West Kentucky and Northwest Tennessee. Flash forward to the present and WK&T has grown to be one of the nation’s most technologically advanced telecommunications companies providing rapid communications that meet the sophisticated needs of the 21st Century. WK&T’s territory has expanded to more than 2,500 route miles, servicing more than 15,000 customers with advanced broadband, voice, video and security services. In 2011, the company received a $123 million federal stimulus to construct an in-ground, fiber-to-home network that replaced outdated above ground copper cable and makes West Kentucky and all of WK&T’s territory well prepared and competitive in the technology world. WK&T has and will continue to be a leader in broadband technology.
WK&T prides themselves in leading the way in broadband, fiber and all technology related services along with carefully understanding the importance of contributions to the community and always maintaining a strong vison for not only customers but for the communities they serve as well. WK&T is forward thinking and always looking for opportunities to grow and expand the services offered within the communities that they serve. It’s the WK&T way!
In 2017, WK&T was looking to continue to enhance and bolster their community. They purchased a vacant, former University campus on U.S. 45, north of Mayfield, to create a technology park now known as The WK&T Tech Park.
WK&T employs over 75 full time employees throughout West Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama. Headquartered in Mayfield, KY, WK&T’s home base is located within the Tech Park Campus and is located just off of Highway 45, a 4-lane, 65 mph main road. WK&T’s main office is located only 3 miles from I-69 and 20 miles from I-24.
Their mission is to offer leading-edge technology, excellent customer service and support to our members with a goal to achieve complete customer satisfaction.
